Banks and Post Offices

Banks

Banks offer useful services such as money transfer to and from foreign countries, savings, direct deposit of paychecks and handling of utilities payments. Also, if you have an ATM card issued when opening a bank account, you will be able to deposit and withdraw money from your account at an ATM machine.
To open an account at a bank, go there with your personal stamp (Inkan) and your alien registration certificate or passport.
For further information, inquire at any bank. Banks are open from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday (closed on national holidays).
